Chicago House Track, der gerade so gut ein Techno Track aus Detroit sein könnte. Er ist für Clubmusik so klassisch wie Heartbreak Hotel für Rock'n'Roll oder I Can't get No Satisfaction für Rock. Es ist das erste Stück House-Musik, das sonisch, d.h. von der verwendeten Soundmaterialität voll und vom Arrangement her vollständig klang.
Jamie Principle hatte wenig mit der House-Szene seiner Heimatstadt zu tun. Er wuchs in einem schwarzen bürgerlichen Haushalt mit klassischer Musik und Rhythm'n'Blues/Soul auf. Diesen Song strickte er im Homestudio als Geschenk für seine Freundin zusammen, in die er total verknallt war. Zuerst war es ein Gedicht, dann machte er Musik dazu. Über ein Freund kam das Stück dann zum DJ Frankie Knuckles, dem «Godfather of House Music» und der Rest ist Geschichte.
