Roxy Music waren vielleicht die erste postmoderne Band. Stile wurden einfach alle, die in der Band eine Anhängerschaft hatten, inkorporiert; so Velvet Underground, die Shadows oder Bill Haley. Programm war, auf eklektische Weise diese verschiedenen Stile zu vereinen. Dieses erste Album der Band klang neu wie nichts anderes zuvor aber konnte trotzdem ein grosses Publikum finden.
