Dieses Album wurde in New York mit Produzent Gary Klein eingespielt, weil Columbia fand, dass Johnny Cash zu lange keinen Album-Erfolg mehr gehabt habe. Die Nashville Produzenten fürchteten diesen Einfluss New Yorks und waren gewissermassen froh, als auch dieses Album nicht chartete. Trotz dem kommerziellen Misserfolg ist das Album eines der besten des Sängers aus den 70er Jahren.
