Ein Konzeptalbum mit zynischen Songs gegen Rechts, gegen den Faschismus, der in Grossbritannien zur Zeit aufkeimte (Enoch Powell). Costello spielte damals auf Veranstaltungen von Rock Against Racism.
Der Atlantic-Rezensent David A. Graham erzählt die Geschichte vom betrunkenen Costello, der in Columbus, Ohio von Bonnie Bramlett vom Barhocker gestossen wurde, weil er sich herablassend und rassistisch über die amerikanische Musikszene im Generellen und James Brown und Ray Charles im Speziellen äusserte (siehe auch Ultimateclassicrock Artikel). Der Columbus-Incident brachte Costello schlechte Publicity. Er und sein hervorragendes Album wurden von den Radiostationen nicht mehr gespielt.
